Agriculture and Live Stock Farming
Calinos Holding is one of the innovative names of the sector with cutting edge technology production plants and farms…
Leben Milk acquired a vision of being the leader in food sector by grounding on customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, quality, food safety, team work, social responsibility, professional management insight, technological development adaptation and sharing. It is established in Nigde - Bor province’s Kızılca town. It adopted a principle on environment and public health by receiving support from local and international professionals in its construction period. They examined every single data on topography, climate, logistics, animal welfare, profitability, biosafety, environment and public health meticulously.
As a result of studies, reviews and tests that were carried under the supervision of Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock authorities, breeding animals that are carefully selected from the United States of America were imported; complying with the criterias of biosafety and animal welfare.
Milking facilities are composed of two integrated parts with a capacity of 480 milkers each; 1920 milkers in total. These facilities where Leben took it’s leadership and guidance in designing, constructing and operating; were designed and constructed by considering region’s climatic conditions to provide optimum environmental conditions (heat, humidity, ventilation, comfort) to dairy cattles. Barns were built according to international and national livestock breeding regulations on closed and open area sizes in square meters per livestock. Barns have heat conservation waterers adaptable to winter and summer weather conditions, sand beds where cattles can rest comfortably, bed irons individualizing these beds, feeders that cattles can easyly reach, cattle headlocks that enables animal care, modern flushing system for cleaning purposes and rubber concrete grounds for maximum safety.
Barns are specially designed to satisfy all the needs of animals. Birth, postpartum mother and calf care, cow chiropody and treatment, health control and special practice areas were carefully designed. In addition to this; individual care units are improved with foot care and claw trimming equipments, surgical and medical equipments for continuous supervision of healthy and productive calves. Vaccination, tracking and periodical check ups to prevent animals from epidemic and zoonosis diseases are run by Special Practices Barn.
There are modern calf barns, with a capacity of 2000 animals; for calves that will be included to milkers in the future. These barns are designed to fulfill reproduction, health, vaccination, weighing, tracing and nutrition needs of young animals.
Newborns are raised in specially designed calf barns postpartum for 60 days. Calves are starting to be fed with bottle and getting used to eat grain in these barns.
Clean, high quality, hygienic milking is being realized by the latest technology milking units. Milking units are consisting of two different fully automatic centers with 2 x 40 and 2 x 12 sizes and have the capacity to milk 104 animals within 15 minutes. Informations are being accumulated by high tech computers that detect entire milking process; controls and monitors each individual cow as she is being milked. Milk yields, milking durations, flow rates, milk quality, identification of teat disseases are among the vast analytical data which are captured and stored during each milking. Following milk collection; milk is being cooled rapidly and conserved in milk tanks. By this way milk quality and consumers health is being secured. It has been planned to produce 30.000.000 litres of milk yearly. Feeds are being stored in feed grinder units which are either from our own production of feed or feeds provided for them that are examined carefully according to quality standarts. Feed that are prepared according to the principles of feed rationing is being served to cattles considering each animal’s need and age. Feed that are prepared in private feeding programmes where ingridents calculated by physical, chemical and biological tests; are being tracked on daily consumption and productivity basis. 60.000.000 kilogrammes of cattle feed raw material is being planned to be mixed for the feeding of dairy cows yearly.
Medical conditions, treatment histories, fertility datas, gestation, yield tracks, parental infos, vaccination certificates and identification cards for each cow in the premises are being recorded. Operation programmes and work-flow are being produced by the help of these records.
Cow manure is being collected in manure pools by special equipments and systems for hygenic purposes and production of agricultural fertilisers, and then it is being forwarded to vegetation production units; right after solids are separated from the liquid portion of the manure. Flush systems are comprised of a tank that delivers copious amounts of water to flush all manure off the alleys, this circulating water provide continuous cleaning in the platforms.
