Calinos Entertainment was launched in Los Angeles in 1997. Calinos soon expanded and moved its headquarters to Istanbul, while maintaining the original office to coordinate U.S. transactions. The company distributes films and television series domestically and to numerous international markets. It is the first Turkish distribution company to work with Universal and Paramount directly, and the first company to sell Turkish miniseries, soap operas, documentaries and cartoons internationally.

Program Marketing and Distribution for Turkish Television

Calinos' film and television library currently houses more than 300 hours of animation, 900 hours of soap opera programming, 400 hours of television series and over 300 films. Programming from Paramount, Universal and numerous independent production companies make the library highly diversified. From Hollywood blockbusters like Mission Impossible, The Gladiator, The Mummy, The Mummy Returns and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider  to children's animated series like Woody Woodpecker and Casper  to telenovelas, and documentaries, Calinos has something for every age and taste. Moreover, Calinos Entertainment has also worked with every television channel in Turkey.

Channel Development

Calinos Entertainment is currently developing new television channels in Turkey. With our wide range of programs, we will have the opportunity to launch two movie channels and one entertainment channel by 2007. More information on these projects are coming soon.

Program Marketing and Distribution for International Television

As a bridge between Asian and European cultures, Turkey has the unique opportunity to market programming which appeals to a variety of countries and cultures. Since inception, Calinos has developed and maintained a strong presence in foreign markets.

Our international business thus far has mainly been concentrated in CIS countries, specifically Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Uzbekistan and Moldova. We license nearly 500 hours of programming annually to these countries. We also work with Eastern European countries such as Bosnia and Bulgaria, and Middle Eastern countries like Iran. Calinos works with countries in the Far East as well, including Malaysia, Brunei, Thailand and Indonesia.
